People spend a great deal of their time inside a home, an office or at school. Unfortunately, the air we all breathe inside our homes and/or in other places that we frequent can be polluted. Anything from allergies or respiratory issues to long-term health conditions can be a result of breathing polluted air. Your Home Inspector LLC will test your air quality in order to either determine a cleanup is necessary or confirm that everything is safe. And we have no conflict of interest here, we are inspectors and NOT remediators!
Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Definitions
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are gases that can stem from certain solids or liquids. VOCs may include a number of different chemicals, some presenting short and others long-term adverse health effects. Concentration danger for these VOCs ise as much as ten times higher indoors than they will be outdoors. Certified Mold Testing will routinely test for Volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
MVOCs are volatile organic (chemical) gases put off by actively growing mold. The chemical gas levels should be measured in order to determine the level of actively growing mold in a home. An air survey can determine the levels of mold growing in the home. Certified Mold Testing will routinely test for Mold Volatile organic compounds (MVOCs).
Formaldehyde is an organic air pollutant made up of an atom of carbon, and atom of oxygen and two atoms of hydrogen. Formaldehyde is normally present in outdoor air, but indoor formaldehyde concentrations are typically higher because of what sources might cause it to be present. Certified Mold Testing will routinely test for Formaldehyde.
Particle matter or PM, is a mixture of solid and liquid droplets floating in the air. Some are released directly from a specific source, while others form in complicated chemical reactions in the atmosphere. Certified Mold Testing will routinely test for Particulates.
